Ocker für den Hintergrund, mit einem trockenen Pinsel in wechselnden Streichrichtungen (sobald man ein System oder Muster bemerkt, Richtung ändern). Grüne Erde mit Titanweiß für die hellen Stellen des Kiesels. Lampschwarz für den Schatten. Kleiner Pinsel für den Kiesel. Man versuche, an Stellen mit weichen Farbübergängen die Pinselspuren zu verbergen (Venetianischrot zu Grüne Erde/Titanweiß). Bei scharfen Kontrasten lasse man den Pinselstrich unverämdert, bis auf vielleicht einer unscharfen Stelle, um ihn mit der Umgebung zu verbinden.

Ocher for the background, with a dry brush and changing directions of the brushstrokes (as soon you realize a system, a pattern in the way you move the brush, change it). Green earth mixed with titanium white for the light part of the pebble. Lamp black for the shadow. Small brush for the pebble. Try to hide brush traces at areas with soft changes of colour (venetian red to greenearth/titanium white). At sharp contrasted areas, leave the brush stroke unchanged, except for maybe one blury spot at it for connecting it with the surrounding colour.
