Wände sind nicht leicht zu malen. Meistens einfarbig, sieht das schnell langweilig aus, wenn man malt, was man weiß (sie ist einfarbig) und nicht was man sieht. Man sieht nämlich was ganz anderes. Lauter Abstufungen der Farbe, die die Unebenheiten und Unregelmäßigkeiten zeigen. Die kann man genau abschildern, oder man reinigt den Pinsel nicht ordentlich und achtet auf die Pinselführung, so daß die unreine Farbe zu einer lebendigen Wanddarstellung wird.

Walls are not easy to paint. Mostly momchrome, it gets a boring impression easily, if you paint what you know (monochrome) and not what you see. You see something completely different. A lot of colours describing the little spots and irregularities in the surface of the wall. You can depict them accurately or use a not so clean brush and look after your brush-geestures, so that the unclear colour evolves into a lively depiction of a wall.
