Ach, was waren die schüchtern.Und in ihrer barocken Schönheit hatten sie wirklich keinen Grund dafür. Aber wenigstens schafften sie es , auf dem Bild zu erscheinen. Ihre eindrucksvolle Erscheinung, dachten sie, würde alle anderen verschrecken. Aber die waren nur zum Mittag.
So wird Schüchternheit gerne mal verstohlene Arroganz.

Oh, were they shy.
In their baroque beauty they really didn´ have a reason. But at least they managed to attend the picture. Their impressive appearrance, so they thought, scared off all others. But they were only off for lunchbreak.
This way shyness covertly evolves into arrogance, sometimes.

Komposition ist ein Werkzeug, um ein Bild interessant zu machen. Wie Farbe und Form. Aber Komposition ist selten angemessen verwendet.
Um das zu tun, kann man zum Beispiel die Komposition unbalanciert arrangieren. Scheinbar. Denn wenn man den Hintergrund als Teil einer Komposition versteht, ist da immer eine Balance. Der Unterschied besteht in stabil (im Extrem: Symmetrie) und labil.
Stabile Kompositionen erzählen die ganze Geschichte von Anfang bis Ende, keine Überraschungen, keine Fragen unbeantwortet.
Eine labile Komposition weißt aus sich heraus, sie beginnt, aber ihr Ende ist offen, unbekannt, sie schafft Raum für Phantasie.
Ich mag das lieber.

Composition is a tool to make a picture interesting. Like colour and shape. But composition seldom is used appropiately.
To do so, you can, for instance, arrange the elements of a picture off balance. Seemingly. But if you understand the background as an element of composition, there is always a balance. The difference is between stable (in its extreme: symmetry) and unstable.
Stable compositions tell a whole story from start to end, no surprises or questions left unanswered.
An unstable composition points outside itself, it starts, but its end is open, unknown, it leaves room for imagination.
I like that better.
