Well,as in every year in the past, the grapes were practising for new year´s eve. And as in every year in the past they were fighting fiercly about the honur to be the first to be launched.

Wenn man an horror vacui (Angst vor den Lücke) leidet, und dazu neigt, seine Bilder mit "kompositionellen Dingen" vollzustopfen, dann hat man ein Problem. Weil man im Grunde die Struktur seiner Komosition verunklart ("weniger ist mehr" passt hier. Passt nicht immer, aber hier) und erschwert, Fehler und Schwächen zu finden.
Wie schon im vorigen Beitrag gesagt, muss man die "Lücke" (Kein Bild hat eine Lücke. Da ist überall Tafel/Leinwand. Außer bei Fontana´s) nicht als Lücke, sondern als gleichwertiges Element einer zweidimensionalen Komposition sehen.
Man spiele damit herum.
Maximal reduzieren.
Lücken malen.

If you suffer from horror vacui (angst of void) and tend to crowd your picture with "compositional things" just to have something there, you have a problem. Because you are actually blurring the structure of your composition ("less is more" applies here, not everywhere, but here) and makes it harder to find mistakes and weaknesses.
As I mentioned in the post before, you have to see the "void" (No picture has a void. It´s all panel/canvas. Except Fontana´s) not as a void but as an equal element of the two-dimensional composition.
Play around with that.
Reduce to the max.
Paint voids.
